The Ingredients List:
- Flour
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- White sugar
- Brown sugar
- Vanilla
- Eggs
- Sour Cream
- Butter
Butter: It needs to be melted. After melting, let it cool for 5-8 minutes before adding to the batter.
Sugar: If you don’t have any brown sugar on hand, coconut palm sugar or additional white sugar can be used.
No Sour Cream? Feel free to replace it with plain Greek yogurt.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 TBSP butter, melted, then, cooled
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Chocolate Frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, melted butter. Then, add in eggs, vanilla and both sugars. Whisk until combined.
- Add in flour and cocoa powder and mix until fully combined.
- Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 30-32 minutes or until they start to pull away from the edges of the pan. Let them cool completely before frosting.

How did you get your brownies to be so tall (as in your photo) when there's no leavening agent in this recipe? Also, mine came out tasting eggy!

These were very good. I switched the amounts of flour and cocoa though - putting close to 3/4 cup of cocoa and 1/2 cup of flour instead to make it more chocolatey.
