Can This Be Used With Any Brand of Muffin Mix?

Yes, maybe. I used a 7 oz package of Martha White (see recipe card) Birthday Cake Muffin Mix. It only requires milk to make the muffins. If you use the same size package and it only requires milk to make muffins, it should work. However, I have not tried these with another brand. That being said, if you do try another brand, please let me know how they work out!

Flour

I found the original recipe for these on social media. My batter was a bit oily, so, I added 2 tablespoons of flour to absorb it. Worked like a charm. I didn’t see anyone else noting this in the original social media post, so, I thought, well, it could be me. So, if you find your batter a little oily, add the flour. If you don’t, you can omit it.

Storage

Keep any leftovers in a covered container. They are best eaten within a week or so.

Ingredients

  • 1- 7 oz package, dry muffin mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 TBSP milk
  • 1-2 TBSP flour, optional
  • sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a flat rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix together dry muffin mix, melted butter and milk. Mix to combine. If desired, add in a few additional sprinkles. If your batter seems too oily, add a tablespoon or two of flour.
  3. Scoop a small bit of batter and roll into a ball. It should be only 1/2 inch- 1 inch in size. Place on prepared baking sheet. Continue with remaining dough.
  4. Bake 10-12 minutes. Let them cool about 5-8 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet. Then, cool completely on a wire rack.
